Module 1 – Breath-Hold Practices for Asthma

Module 1 introduces targeted breath-hold training—the cornerstone of our asthma-coaching program. Rooted in the Bohr effect, these drills recalibrate respiratory biochemistry to restore efficient oxygen delivery in people with asthma. By correcting habitual over-breathing and rebuilding CO₂ tolerance, the exercises relax and dilate asthmatic airways, lower reactivity, and cut the frequency of symptom flare-ups.

Module 2 – Nasal Breathing & Ending Mouth Breathing in Asthma

Module 2 shifts the focus to nasal breathing—the natural default that asthma often disrupts. We explore how modern lifestyle and diet have normalised mouth breathing, worsening asthmatic biomechanics and biochemistry. Through practical strategies—such as gentle mouth-taping during rest—you’ll reclaim nasal dominance, improve airway tone, and reinforce long-term breathing efficiency for better asthma control.

Module 3 – Paleo-Inspired Elimination Diet for Asthma

Module 3 guides you through an elimination diet rooted in Dr. Loren Cordain’s research on Paleolithic nutrition. By realigning your meals with the whole foods that nourished our hunter-gatherer ancestors, you systematically remove modern, pro-inflammatory triggers while rebuilding gut integrity. This evolutionary food template calms systemic inflammation, supports microbiome balance, and, in turn, lessens the airway irritation that sustains asthma symptoms—helping you breathe easier from the inside out.

Module 4 – Diaphragmatic Breathing Awareness & Strength for Asthma

Asthma often hijacks the breath toward the upper chest—especially during flare-ups—straining accessory muscles and restricting ventilation. In this module you’ll reconnect with your primary breathing muscle, the diaphragm. Step one is cultivating subtle awareness of its movement and sensations; step two is progressively strengthening it through targeted exercises. Guided practices train a deep, coordinated diaphragmatic pattern that lowers breathing effort, eases airway tension, and fosters a calmer, more efficient respiratory rhythm.

Module 5 – Exercise & Movement for Asthma

Many people with asthma avoid working out, yet the right kind of movement is essential for long-term control. This module encourages you to choose activities you genuinely enjoy—walking, jogging, yoga, swimming, cycling—and teaches you how to pace yourself with calm nasal breathing so exercise feels safe rather than stressful. By combining these strategies with the anti-inflammatory diet and breathing awareness from earlier lessons, you can gradually build cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility at your own pace. The module also provides yoga routines and progress trackers to support your journey.

Module 6 – Sleep & Asthma Recovery

Restorative sleep is a cornerstone of emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being—but many people with asthma wake feeling unrefreshed thanks to nighttime symptoms, airway inflammation, and mouth-breathing. In this module you’ll learn practical sleep-hygiene strategies and follow guided meditations designed to settle the nervous system and promote nasal breathing overnight. Combined with the nutrition, lifestyle, mindfulness, and breath-work habits from earlier modules, these sleep-supporting skills help rebuild resilience and accelerate your whole-body transformation.

Module 7 – Mindfulness of Breathing

In this module you will learn the Mindfulness-of-Breathing meditation and develop a self-practice through guided-audio sessions. Asthmatics understandably have a difficult relationship with their breath; breathing can feel distressing, overwhelming, and tangled with challenging sensations, emotions, and thoughts. While the other program skills aim to improve how you breathe, this module is designed to transform how you relate to your breath—so that, even when symptoms flare, you can experience each inhale and exhale without reacting or creating the negative feedback loops that deepen discomfort. Mindfulness practice also brings awareness to deeper patterns of behaviour and tension, cultivating insight that can help reshape your life. Ultimately, this essential part of the program reframes difficult experiences as fuel for meaningful, lasting transformation.

My Asthma

I was diagnosed with severe asthma in infancy and spent childhood tethered to Ventolin, steroids, and the hospital nebulizer. Though attacks eased in my teens, they stormed back in my late twenties: every damp autumn clamped my lungs, wheezy breathing and chest infections followed, and allergens or certain foods could trigger a full-blown episode.

That feels like another life. Through targeted breathing practices, dietary interventions, and other lifestyle shifts, I have been medication-free for years. The scarred, fragile lungs I once imagined now feel like healthy up-turned trees nourishing my body. Allergies have faded, my nose stays clear, and stress no longer locks my chest.

I keep my final Ventolin and steroid inhalers in a frame labeled “In emergency, don’t break glass,” a daily reminder that the tools I need are now inside me—and the path that led here is what this training will share.

"I have been struggling with allergic asthma for years. Even though I’ve been into yoga, I could not find a way to improve my breathing and overcome my stress. I was so excited when I found David's program. It has been only 5 weeks since I joined, and I’ve already reduced my daily inhaler doses from twice to once." - O.O

"The course has transformed my daily life. Connecting each practice to its deeper and scientific meaning keeps me motivated and engaged. I feel lighter, my mind clearer, and I’m amazed by the power of simply regulating my breath. I am undoubtedly calmer, sleep better, and am more energized. This program creates a sense of safety that allows me to explore my body’s potential and live more joyfully." T.T
